Transportation and storage

To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position. Store away from heat and flame. VOC content HIGH VOC CONTENT 25-50%  VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)  contribute to atmospheric pollution. EU limit value for this product (Cat A/d): 300 g/l (2010). This product contains max 300 g/l VOC.

Preparation

Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease. Rub down the bare timber surfaces with dry glasspaper to remove raised grain and sharp edges. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Apply Knotting Solution to knots and resinous areas, and allow to dry thoroughly. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

Application

Stir well before use. Suitable for application by brush or roller.  Apply liberally, working firmly into the surface and laying off in the line of the grain. Take care to treat all accessible timber particularly the end grain. Allow to dry thoroughly before applying the relevant undercoat and finishing paint.

Cleaning

Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean equipment immediately after use with White Spirit or Turpentine Substitute. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses. Replace lid firmly. 

Warning

•  Flammable liquid and vapour.

•  Contains 2-butanone oxime.  May produce an allergic  reaction.

•  Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.

•  If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.

•  Keep out of reach of children.

•  Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing.

•  IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

•  IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent thinners or White Spirit.

•  IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell.

•  Ensure maximum ventilation during application and drying.

•  Not recommended for interior use on large surface areas, or in confined spaces.

•  Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool.

•  Keep container tightly closed.
