Truguard Stabilising Masonry Primer

Leyland Truguard Stabilising Masonry Primer is a clear solution for binding down powdery residues on exterior masonry surfaces prior to the application of Truguard  water-borne masonry  coatings.

Transportation and storage

To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position. Store away from heat and flame.

Preparation

Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease. Treat any mould or lichen with Sterilisation Wash before removing with a scraper or stiff brush, then treat surface again with Sterilisation Wash and allow to dry. Chalky, underbound surfaces, should be thoroughly scraped and dry brushed. Wear a suitable face mask if creating dust.

Application

Apply by brush one coat of Leyland Stabilising Masonry Primer liberally, brushing the material well into the surface. Allow 16-24 hours to dry and follow with two coats of the selected Truguard Exterior Masonry Coating. Before applying Truguard Stabilising Masonry Primer to the whole surface, first carry out a test application to a small area. If this dries to a glossy film, thin with one part of White Spirit to two parts of Truguard Stabilising Masonry Primer and then test again in another small area. It is important to ensure that a non-glossy, dried, sealed surface is produced.

Cleaning

Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean equipment immediately after use with white spirit or turpentine substitute. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses. Replace lid firmly.
