Smart Multi-Surface

Leyland Trade Smart Multi-Surface is a mid-sheen paint which can be used on multiple different interior surfaces, including: wood, metal, plaster plus wallboard, concrete, cement rendering, brickwork and blockwork in internal situations. Specially formulated to offer superior durability and moisture resistance, making the paint suitable for application in any room.

Coverage

1 litre will cover up to 12 square metres, depending on the nature and porosity of the surface. When using more than one tin of a colour in the same room, intermix before use.

Drying time

Recoatable after 3-4 hours.

Transportation and storage

To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position.

Preparation

Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease. Remove all loose and defective paint. Rub down previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper to provide a good key. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Prime where required for example metal and wooden surfaces, with the appropriate Leyland Trade primer. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they

may contain harmful lead.

Application

Suitable for application by brush, roller or spray. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Do not breathe spray. Wear respiratory protection. Stir well before use. Seal absorbent surfaces with a coat of Leyland Trade Smart Multi-Surface, thinned using clean water, 1 part water to 9 parts Leyland Trade Smart Multi-Surface. Spray application may also require the same dilution. Two coats are normally required for durability and obliteration. Further coats may be required over strong contrasting colours. Allow 3 – 4 hours between coats. Do not apply when air or surface temperature is below 10ºC. Conditions of high humidity can prolong the drying times.

Cleaning

Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean equipment immediately after use in warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses. Replace lid firmly.
