Hardwearing Matt

Leyland Hardwearing Matt is a superior quality paint specially formulated to deliver an extremely durable and hardwearing finish. The paint film is washable and scrubbable with both stain and moisture resisting properties making it ideal for areas that are subject to wear and tear or condensation. Suitable for interior walls and woodwork, the non yellowing formula is low odour and fast drying ensuring easy application and minimal downtime.

Coverage

1 litre will cover approximately 12 square metres depending on the nature and porosity of the surface. Strong or contrasting colours may require additional coats. When using more than one tin of a colour in the same room, intermix before use.

 Drying time

Recoatable after 4 hours.

Wet: 83µm Dry: 28µm

Transportation and storage

To avoid the risk of spillage, always store  and transport in a secure upright position. PROTECT FROM FROST.

Preparation

Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease. Remove all loose and defective paint. Seal absorbent surfaces with a solution of up to 1 part water to 4 parts Hardwearing Matt. Prime bare timber and metal surfaces with the appropriate Leyland Primer. Rub down sound previously gloss painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrsive paper and rinse thoroughly before applying a pre-coat of Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. For further advice contact Technical Advisory.

Application

Stir well before use and apply by brush, roller or spray. When using a roller, use a medium pile synthetic type. Do not overfill the tray. Ensure roller is loaded evenly. If using a brush, load generously. Apply liberally and evenly; avoid overspreading. Under normal conditions, allow 4 hours before applying a second coat if required. Do not apply when air or surface temperature is below 10°C.

Cleaning

Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean equipment immediately after use in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Replace lid firmly. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses.
